Outi Pieski

(b. 1973, Helsinki)

Outi Pieski (b.1973) lives and works in Utsjoki and Helsinki. Northern nature comes up often in her works. Pieski´s art includes paintings, collages and installations. In her work there is often a strong connection between nature and culture. The realism widens into personal feelings and a sense of timelessness. In Pieski´s work the nature, culture and a work of art seems to be connected into specific place and at the same time it is completely universal. The landscape in the paintings is continuing from the front of the eye to the behind – into the memories and shared awareness. In year 2015 Pieski is a candidate for Ars Fennica prize.
